News Release - May 4, 2011 CORRECTIONS EXTENDS BEST PRACTICES AGREEMENT WITH NORTH DAKOTAThe Ministry of Corrections, Public Safety and Policing is extending its Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with U.S. Federal Probation and Pretrial Services-District of North Dakota, that sees Saskatchewan corrections officials consulting with probation officials on correctional best practices. The MOU is being extended for an additional 12 months from its original two-year period. It was first signed in 2009. "We have built a solid relationship with our partners across the border and we're enthusiastic about extending the opportunity to learn from each other for another year," Corrections, Public Safety and Policing Minister D.F. (Yogi) Huyghebaert said. Under the terms of the MOU, Saskatchewan is providing services that include risk assessment and certification, Clinical Director training, clinical supervision training and implementation of community safety planning. -30- For more information, contact:
