AUBICHON INQUEST

An inquest into the death of Martin Aubichon will be held August 30th and 31st and September 1st and 3rd, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at the Regina Queen's Bench Courthouse, 2425 Victoria Avenue.

Mr. Aubichon, aged 34 years, died June 19th, 2003, in hospital following criminal activity and altercations in a Regina residential neighbourhood. At the time of his death, Mr. Aubichon was in custody of the Regina Police Service.

Section 19 of the Coroners Act states that the Chief Coroner may direct that an inquest be held into the death of any person.

In addition to establishing who died, when and where the individual died, the medical cause of death and the manner of death, the coroner's jury may make recommendations to prevent similar deaths in the future. Inquests are open to the public.

Coroner Jeff Grubb of Regina will preside at the inquest.
