AMBASSADOR OF MOROCCO VISITS SASKATCHEWAN

Provincial Secretary June Draude will meet with Her Excellency Nouzha Chekrouni, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco during her first official visit to Saskatchewan next week. Her Excellency will be in Saskatchewan June 14 and 15 to discuss Morocco-Saskatchewan relations.

"We are honoured to host Her Excellency and showcase what Saskatchewan has to offer," Draude said. "Morocco is our province's third largest buyer of wheat. In order for us to sustain our economic strength, it would be advantageous to expand mutually beneficial partnerships with other jurisdictions like Morocco."

While in Saskatchewan, Ambassador Chekrouni will meet with Lieutenant Governor Dr. Gordon Barnhart, Deputy Premier and Education Minister Ken Krawetz and Agriculture Minister Bob Bjornerud. Meetings are also planned with representatives of the Assemblée communautaire fransaskoise and officials from Energy and Resources and Advanced Education, Employment and Labour.

The Office of the Provincial Secretary works with government, organizations, and communities to provide opportunities to celebrate and promote the diversity, character and achievements of our province and to engage diplomats and Consular Corps who visit Saskatchewan as part of government's strategy to strengthen and build regional, national and international relationships.
