PRODUCERS REMINDED TO SUBMIT SEEDED ACRES REPORT BY JUNE 25
Saskatchewan Crop Insurance customers are reminded to submit their completed Seeded Acreage Reports declaring all seeded acres by June 25.
The reports have been simplified for producers in 2009.
"We recognize this is a busy time of year for producers," Saskatchewan Crop Insurance General Manager Cam Swan said. "This simplified form will allow farmers to focus on what really matters - growing their crops."
Producers declare all seeded acres, whether insured or uninsured, including crop variety, seeding date, 2009 summerfallow and acres too wet to seed. The information gathered on the forms is used to calculate a producer's level of insurance and process any claims on insured acres.
Producers received a package containing a personalized Seeded Acreage Report and a Stored Grain Declaration in May. Stored grain is reported in order to make more accurate post-harvest claim payments otherwise it may be considered new production.
Seeded Acreage Reports and Stored Grain Declaration information may be submitted by mail, phone, fax or office visit. Producers who have signed up for CropConnect may also submit their Seeded Acreage Report online.
If producers require assistance in completing the forms, they may review the instructions in Your Complete Guide to Understanding Crop Insurance or contact their local customer service office. For more information, call 1-888-935-0000 or visit www.saskcropinsurance.com.
