SASKATCHEWAN YOUTH AWARD PRESENTED

Premier Brad Wall presented the Saskatchewan Youth Award to six young people in Regina today.

Established in 2006, this is the first provincial award to recognize Saskatchewan citizens ages 15 to 24 who have made valuable contributions to the province and demonstrated outstanding achievement.

"Young people are an essential part of Saskatchewan's future," Wall said. "The contributions, achievement and leadership of these six recipients holds promise of a secure and prosperous future for us all."

The 2007 recipients are:
• Alyssa Anderson, Lloydminster
• Mandy Cmoc, Yorkton
• Jessica Hueser, Prince Albert
• Neil Kalra, Saskatoon
• Raymond Ko, Saskatoon
• Meahgan Sweet, Wiseton

Recipients are selected from nominations submitted by the public. Selections are made by an independent committee including youth representatives.
