PUBLIC MEMORIAL SERVICE TO BE HELD FOR FORMER PREMIER

A public memorial is planned to recognize and honour the contributions made by former Premier Allan Blakeney throughout his public service and political career.

The memorial, which all members of the public are invited to attend, will take place on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 1:30 pm at the Conexus Arts Centre, 200A Lakeshore Drive, Regina.

Members of the public wishing to express condolences to Blakeney's family may do so by signing a condolence book at the Legislative Building in Regina or City Hall in Saskatoon during regular hours of operation. Those unable to sign the book in person can send their message at condolence@gov.sk.ca.

Blakeney, who died on Saturday following a battle with cancer, was Premier of Saskatchewan from 1971 to 1982.
