Eight new members have been appointed to the Saskatchewan Arts Board.

They are:

Margaret L. McKercher, Saskatoon;

Sherry Farrell Racette, Regina;

Ken Sagal, Regina;

Trudi Barlow, Saskatoon;

Louise Halfe, Saskatoon;

David Millar, Regina;

Alison Gillis, Regina; and

Lyndon Tootoosis, North Battleford.

Three members have been reappointed. They are:

Maggie Siggins, Regina;

Lon Borgerson, MacDowall; and

Gursh Madhur, Regina.

Colleen M. Bailey of Yorkton continues as Chairperson and Margaret McKercher

has been appointed Vice-Chairperson.

"The Saskatchewan Arts Board plays an important role in fostering and

encouraging the arts within our province," Municipal Affairs, Culture and

Housing Minister and Minister responsible for The Arts Board Jack Hillson

said. "I'm pleased that these knowledgeable people have agreed to provide

their expertise and time to the work of the Saskatchewan Arts Board."

The Saskatchewan Arts Board supports a strong and vibrant arts community by

providing grants, programs and services to individuals and groups. Support

focuses on works that have an impact on arts in Saskatchewan and ensures

opportunities exist for the people of Saskatchewan to access a wide variety of

artistic activities.

Board members are appointed for two-year terms.
