News Release - April 9, 2009 CHAIR OF PUBLIC CONSULTATIONS ON URANIUM INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT ANNOUNCEDEnterprise and Innovation Minister Lyle Stewart today announced the appointment of Dan Perrins as Chair of the public consultation process reviewing the findings and recommendations of the Uranium Development Partnership (UDP) report. Perrins will be responsible for supervising all aspects of "The Future of Uranium in Saskatchewan" public consultation process including: 1. 2. Managing the facilitation process at community consultation meetings; Stewart said Dan Perrins is one of the most respected public servants in Saskatchewan.
Perrins is currently the Executive in Residence and Senior Policy Fellow, Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy, University of Regina. Prior to this, he served 36 years in public service in many senior positions including Deputy Minister to the Premier from 2001 to 2007. He has extensive experience in high-level public consultation and facilitation. Stewart noted that as Consultation Chair, Perrins will not act as a spokesperson for the UDP or the Government of Saskatchewan nor will he advocate for or against the UDP's key findings or recommendations. In drafting his report, Perrins will not make recommendations for further action with regard to uranium industry development.
