LONG WEEKEND HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION REMINDER

Highways and Infrastructure Minister Wayne Elhard reminds motorists to please drive safely this coming long weekend and keep an eye on new and ongoing construction projects when travelling.

"I hope everyone has a great Saskatchewan Day long weekend, but please keep in mind the tremendous amount of activity taking place on our highways," Elhard said. "Motorists should take into account construction zones so they can plan the best and safest route possible. Motorists are also reminded to slow to 60 km/h when passing highway workers and equipment, use caution and be prepared to stop as directed."

Highway 3

• A temporary detour is in place west of Armit while bridge work is underway.
• Micro-surfacing is underway from 8 km west of the south junction of Highway 3 and Highway 9 at Hudson Bay to 16 km west of the junction. Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the construction area.
• Micro-surfacing is underway from half a kilometre east of the north junction of Highway 3 and Highway 9 at Hudson Bay to about 3 km east of the junction. Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the construction area.
• Surfacing is taking place from about 10 km east of the north junction of Highway 3 and Highway 23 east of Peesane to about 22 km east of the junction near Mistatim. Traffic may be reduced to one lane through the construction area.

Highway 9

• A temporary detour is in place south of Hudson Bay while bridge work is underway.

Highway 15

• Spot improvements may be taking place about 1 km west of Nokomis with the possibility of traffic being reduced to one lane.

Highway 905

• A temporary detour is in place 33 km northwest of the junction of Highway 905 and Highway 102 while a new drainage structure is being installed through the highway. Traffic will be reduced to one lane through the detour area.
