CROP REPORT FOR THE PERIOD NOV. 3 TO 10, 2009

Dry and sunny weather over the past several days has allowed Saskatchewan farmers to make significant progress toward completing harvest. Province-wide, 92 per cent of the harvest is complete, according to Saskatchewan Agriculture's Weekly Crop Report.

The northeastern region, due to the previous weeks' wet weather, has the largest percentage of unharvested crop. Only 78 per cent of the crop has been harvested in the northeast. The northwestern and east-central regions have 90 per cent of harvest in the bin. Harvest is 92 per cent complete in the west-central region, and in the southeastern and southwestern regions, harvest is 95 and 99 per cent compete respectively.

The dry weather has decreased the moisture content of some crops, however crops are still being harvested tough and damp.

Neighbours are helping neighbours finish harvest. Farmers are busy combining, drying grain, baling straw, hauling bales, cleaning corrals and bringing cattle home from pasture.
