News Release - October 23, 2012 EIGHT TO RECEIVE SASKATCHEWAN’S HIGHEST HONOURToday Lieutenant Governor Vaughn Solomon Schofield announced the names of eight recipients to be invested into the Saskatchewan Order of Merit. "I am looking forward to honouring eight remarkable Canadians with the Saskatchewan Order of Merit this year," Solomon Schofield said. The Saskatchewan Order of Merit is the province's highest honour, recognizing individuals who have contributed significantly to the well-being of the province and its residents. Including the eight new members, there have been 193 appointments to the Order of Merit since its inception in 1985.
