CUNNINGHAM INQUEST

An inquest into the death of David Francis Cunningham will be held October 6th to 8th, 2003, at 9:30 am at the Queen's Bench Courthouse, 520 Spadina Crescent East, Saskatoon.

Mr. Cunningham, aged 23, was found deceased in his cell at the Saskatoon Correctional Centre on November 5th, 2002.

Section 20 of The Coroners Act, 1999, requires an inquest to be held into the death of any person who dies while an inmate in a jail, penitentiary, lock-up or correctional facility.

In addition to establishing when and where the death occurred and the medical cause of the death, the Coroner's jury may make recommendations to prevent similar deaths in the future. Inquests are open to the public.

Coroner, Alma Wiebe of Saskatoon will preside at the inquest.
