INCREASED FUNDING FOR SASKATOON SALVATION ARMY

The Saskatoon Salvation Army will receive increased provincial funding to help respond to greater demand for a variety of after-hours services for families and single men and women in the Saskatoon area.

Under a renewed services agreement, the province will provide more than $82,000 to the agency this fiscal year for after-hours information, referral, crisis intervention and emergency mandated services.

"We are pleased to continue our partnership with the Salvation Army to provide responsive, compassionate after-hours services to the people of Saskatoon," Social Services Minister Donna Harpauer said. "We value the work that the staff and volunteers of the Salvation Army do for the people of Saskatoon and across Saskatchewan."

"The Saskatoon Salvation Army is pleased to continue its partnership with the province to provide after-hours social services to the people of our community," Captain Rhonda Smith of the Saskatoon Salvation Army said. "Over the years, there has been a dramatic increase in the use of these services, and we are pleased that the province has responded to this growing need."
