SASKATCHEWAN YOUTH AWARD PRESENTED

Premier Lorne Calvert presented the Saskatchewan Youth Award to five young people on Sunday.

The Saskatchewan Youth Award is part of the Saskatchewan Honours and Awards Program and was established to recognize young people for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the province.

"The recipients of the Saskatchewan Youth Award are committed individuals who are driven to succeed and to make a difference," Calvert said. "They deserve to be recognized for their selfless acts and personal achievements, which make Saskatchewan, and the world, a better place."

The 2006 recipients are:

• Kaytlyn Barber, Regina Beach
• BJ Bodnar, Saskatoon
• Valerie Butt, Mantario
• Lisa Dollansky, Biggar
• Cory Harrower, Regina

Recipients are selected annually from nominations submitted by the public. The selection committee comprises members of the Saskatchewan Honours Advisory Council and youth.
