News Release - January 27, 2010 SASKATCHEWAN’S PROVINCIAL SECRETARY TO ENGAGE CALGARY CONSULAR CORPSSaskatchewan's dynamic economy, vast natural resources and exceptional quality of life will be the focus of a presentation given Thursday at the Westin Hotel by Provincial Secretary June Draude to members of the Calgary Consular Corps, representing more than three dozen countries.
"Saskatchewan is moving forward," Draude said. "It's important here at home and when travelling abroad to build on that momentum with our international partners, both new and existing. This visit is part of government's international strategy and continues work undertaken when members of the diplomatic corps attended our Throne Speech last October." The Consular Corps of Calgary currently consists of 39 member countries, including the United States, China, Japan and Mexico. During her trip to Calgary, Draude will also hold individual meetings with a number of Consuls General. Future presentations are planned for Vancouver, Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto.
