PROVINCIAL INVESTMENTS IN CAPITAL PROJECTS IMPROVING QUALITY OF LIFE IN CUT KNIFE – TURTLEFORD

In its ongoing commitment to make life better for families and create a bright future for young people, the Government of Saskatchewan has recently invested more than $22 million in infrastructure improvements in the Cut Knife - Turtleford region.

"Through the hard work of our government and the people of this province, Saskatchewan's economy is booming like never before and residents in communities like Maidstone and Turtleford are benefiting directly from the efforts," Saskatchewan Agriculture and Food Minister Mark Wartman said while visiting residents and businesses in Maidstone and Turtleford today. "In order to have a strong regional economy and to attract tourists, Saskatchewan needs a strong road system, and many of the projects in which we have invested will improve the roadways in the Cut Knife - Turtleford area."

In addition to rehabilitating heavy-haul, high volume primary grid roads, the government is making improvements to Grid 674 and access roads that are important transportation routes for agricultural producers and the oil industry in the area.

"We have been able to provide funding for a variety of capital projects that will enhance the quality of life for people living in the area, improve upon the business climate and give people even more reason to live, work and build their future in Saskatchewan," Wartman said. "This year's infrastructure budget is the largest ever. By investing in our highways, cultural and recreational facilities, health care systems and municipal infrastructure, we are ensuring that communities province-wide are in a position to capitalize on the many opportunities being created by Saskatchewan's growing economy."
