VADASZ INQUEST

An inquest into the death of Andy Vadasz will be held Dec. 19th-21st, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. at the Regina Queen's Bench Courthouse, 2425 Victoria Avenue.

Mr. Vadasz, aged 48 years, died April 23rd, 2005, while in remand at the Regina Correctional Centre.

Section 20 of The Coroners Act, 1999, states that an inquest is to be held when the death of an inmate occurs in a jail, penitentiary, lock-up or correctional facility unless the death was due to natural causes and was not preventable.

In addition to establishing who died, when and where the individual died, and the medical cause of death, the Coroner's jury may make recommendations to prevent similar deaths in the future. Inquests are open to the public.

Coroner Jeff Grubb of Regina will preside at the inquest.
