MCFALL INQUEST

An inquest into the death of Allwyn George McFall will be held November 15th-18th, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at the Regina Queen's Bench Courthouse, 2425 Victoria Avenue.

Mr. McFall, aged 46 years, died August 16th, 2003, while a resident of the Oskana Community Correctional Centre in Regina.

Section 20 of The Coroners Act, 1999, states that an inquest is to be held when the death of an inmate occurs in a jail, penitentiary, lock-up or correctional facility unless the death was due to natural causes and was not preventable.

In addition to establishing who died, when and where the individual died, and the medical cause of death, the coroner's jury may make recommendations to prevent similar deaths in the future. Inquests are open to the public.

Coroner Doug Kovatch of Regina will preside at the inquest.
