OOCHOO INQUEST

An inquest into the death of Gary James Oochoo will take place Friday,

September 29th at 10:00 am in Court Room #3, McIntosh Building, 800 Central

Avenue, Prince Albert.



The 38 year old Oochoo was found dead on the property of the Prince Albert

Grand Council Spiritual Healing Lodge near Prince Albert. Oochoo was an inmate

in the provincial correctional system at the time of his death.



Section 20 of The Coroners Act, 1999, requires an inquest to held when an

inmate dies in a jail, penitentiary, lock-up or correctional facility.



In addition to establishing when and where the death occurred and the medical

cause of death, the coroner's jury may make recommendations to prevent similar

deaths in the future. Inquests are open to the public.



The presiding coroner will be Mr. R.E.G. Smith.
