CORRECTIONS EXEMPLARY SERVICE AWARDS

Lieutenant Governor Dr. Lynda Haverstock today recognized 32 individuals who have provided exemplary service with the provincial and federal correctional systems.

Sixteen members of the Correctional Service of Canada and 16 provincial employees of Saskatchewan Corrections and Public Safety were honoured with Corrections Exemplary Service Medals.

"The contributions made by each of these dedicated people to help keep our communities safe, and to the rehabilitation of individuals in conflict with the law, are both admirable and important," Corrections and Public Safety Minister Peter Prebble said.

Corrections Exemplary Service Awards recognize the special obligations and hazardous conditions that peace officers in the correctional system work within. The medal recognizes individuals with at least 20 years of full-time exemplary service. Ten of those years must be as a peace officer in an institution or with a parole or probation office.
