WHOLESALE TRADE INCREASES IN SEPTEMBER
Saskatchewan's wholesale trade figures increased in September according to a report released by Statistics Canada today.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, wholesale trade increased by 3.9 per cent between August 2010 and September 2010, the second highest percentage increase among the provinces.
Year-over-year, trade was up 10.0 per cent in September 2010. Saskatchewan ranked third among the provinces.
"This is the third month in a row that wholesale trade was up in the province, likely due to higher sales in agricultural supplies," Enterprise Minister Jeremy Harrison said. "When wholesale trade is up, it means demand for products are up, and a testament to the improvements we are seeing right across our economy."
