February 15th is the deadline for owners of farm land to apply for a rebate on
their 2000 farm land property taxes. The Farm Land Property Tax Rebate, announced in the 2000-2001 provincial budget, provides a rebate of 25 per cent of the current school tax levy on farm land and represents a $50 million, two year commitment by the Government of Saskatchewan. "This tax rebate is in place to help producers adjust to changing market conditions and to help strengthen our industry," Agriculture and Food Minister Clay Serby said. "We want to remind producers to apply before the February 15th deadline." Applications are available at Rural Service Centres and Rural Municipality offices.
