News Release - March 17, 2009 DUBOIS INQUESTAn inquest into the death of Emile William Dubois will be held March 24 through 27, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the Court of Queen's Bench in Regina, Saskatchewan. Dubois, aged 43 years, died April 2, 2008 at a Regina home. He was an inmate of the Wahpeton Healing Lodge near Prince Albert, and at the time of his death was unlawfully at large. Section 20 of The Coroners Act, 1999 states that the Chief Coroner may direct that an inquest be held into the death of any person who dies while an inmate at a jail or a correctional facility, unless the coroner is satisfied that the person's death was due entirely to natural causes and was not preventable. In addition to establishing who died, when and where the individual died, the medical cause of death and the manner of death, the coroner's jury may make recommendations to prevent similar deaths in the future.
