News Release - May 19, 1999 CASINO FUNDS SUPPORT CHILDREN'S SUMMER PROGRAM IN BIGGAR
Intergovernmental and Aboriginal Affairs Minister Berny Weins, on
behalf of Municipal Affairs, Culture and Housing Minister Carol Teichrob, announced today that the Biggar and District Recreation Board has received $3,000 in casino profits through the Associated Entities Fund. "The province established the Associated Entities Fund to distribute a portion of casino profits for the benefit of Saskatchewan people," Weins said. "Since the beginning of 1997 more than $4.5 million in casino profits have been distributed throughout Saskatchewan for programs that support children, youth and families." The Biggar and District Recreation Board in partnership with the Biggar Association for Community Living received $3,000 in support of the All Children's Summer Program for children ages five to 12. Summer programming includes arts and crafts, story times, and sports for all children regardless of family income or physical or mental disabilities.
