MINISTERS MEET TO ADDRESS ISSUES FACING CANADIAN WOMEN

Advanced Education, Employment and Labour Minister Rob Norris is meeting with colleagues from across the country this week in Winnipeg to address important issues facing Canadian women.

"These meetings are an important opportunity for governments to work together toward building a country and indeed a world in which women are equal members of our society," Norris said. "Our discussions recognize the vital contributions women make to the economic, social, political and cultural fabric of our country."

During the two-day meetings, ministers will discuss economic security, violence against women, and issues related to First Nations and Métis women.
