News Release - November 25, 2004 UPGRADING TWO HUMBOLDT AREA SCHOOLS
The Government of Saskatchewan is investing $350,000 on improvements to two schools in Humboldt and surrounding area.
"The provincial government is committed to providing modern, well-equipped learning facilities for Saskatchewan students and teachers," Learning Minister Andrew Thomson said. "We are investing in schools, in students and in the future of Saskatchewan." The Humboldt Rural School Division will receive $323,000 to renovate Watson High School to accommodate Watson Elementary School students and the Humboldt School Division will receive $27,000 for roof replacement on four relocatable classrooms at Humboldt Elementary School. The projects will be cost-shared with the Humboldt Rural School Division and Humboldt School Division. The provincial government is investing $3 million in this first funding release of block capital projects for the next fiscal year to improve the learning environment in 32 K-12 Saskatchewan schools. Additional capital projects will be announced throughout the 2005-06 fiscal year. "Schools today are more important than ever as vital centres of our communities," Thomson said.
