News Release - September 18, 2003 WEST NILE VIRUS UPDATE
There are 67 new probable and confirmed cases of clinical illness due to West Nile Virus in Saskatchewan, bringing the total number of cases to 393.
"Risk of acquiring West Nile infection is very low now," Chief Medical Health Officer for Saskatchewan Dr. Ross Findlater said. "However, people should continue with protective measures at times when mosquitoes are out." A hard frost is what is needed to kill mosquitoes that carry the disease.
