WAITRO 2006: \"THE BUSINESS OF INNOVATION\"

The Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC) is pleased to host the World Association of Industrial and Technological Research Organizations' (WAITRO) 18th Biennial Congress in Saskatoon August 8th - 10th.

WAITRO 2006 is an opportunity for the research and technology community worldwide to come together to learn from each other and from invited experts. Six keynote speakers and 45 other experts will discuss their perspectives on three main topic streams:

1) Building a Successful Research and Development Business,

2) Sustainability: The Triple Bottom Line

3) Technology Transfer and Commercialization

The Congress will also explore how to work with international institutions and development agencies and the role technology plays in creating new opportunities for women.

More than 30 countries will be represented at the Congress which will take place at the Delta Bessborough Hotel. Special tours, networking and cultural events are also planned for the three-day Congress.

Conference sponsorship for select delegates from developing countries has been made possible by two of Canada's leading development agencies. SRC would like to acknowledge the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) for their financial support.
