News Release - August 5, 2009 SIX NORTHERN RECREATIONAL CROWN LAND LEASES AVAILABLEAnyone looking to enjoy the wonders of Saskatchewan's north might be interested in six Crown land leases that the Ministry of Environment is making available. Three of the leases are in the Napatak Subdivision, south of La Ronge. As well, remote leases are available for sites located on Dickens Lake (100 kilometres northeast of La Ronge), Lamp Lake (4 kilometres northwest of La Ronge) and Macbeth Channel (8 kilometres southeast of Buffalo Narrows). Members of the public can apply for the leases through the ministry's website up to 5 p.m. on September 30. The names of successful candidates will be randomly drawn on October 1. "Many people enjoy spending time in northern Saskatchewan, so we are happy to be able to make these lease opportunities available," Environment Minister Nancy Heppner said. "The lottery process will ensure that everyone who is interested has an equal chance at one of the leases." The leases will authorize use of a small parcel of land for seasonal recreational purposes. Lease agreements include development and other requirements that lessees must carry out. For details on the leases, including rates and other requirements, as well as to enter the draw, please go to the Ministry of Environment website at www.environment.gov.sk.ca/salesleases. -30- For more information, contact:
