KELSEY TRAIL REGIONAL HEALTH AUTHORITY MEMBERS REAPPOINTED

Health Minister John Nilson today announced the reappointment of the 11 current members of the Kelsey Trail Regional Health Authority to a second three-year term.

He also welcomed Cathy Ryan of Hudson Bay to the health authority. Ryan works for Hudson Bay Transport and is involved with several community organizations.

"The health authority members, under the leadership of chairperson Carol Hayward and vice-chairperson Dale Link, have served the community well since the creation of regional health authorities in 2002," Nilson said. "I am pleased that we can call upon them for three more years of service."

Reappointed to the regional health authority are:

· Carol Hayward, Tisdale, chairperson
· Dale Link, Melfort, vice-chairperson
· Kathleen Bedard, St Brieux
· Robert R. Cheechoo, Cumberland House
· Don DeMarsh, Tisdale
· Minnie Deutsch, Nipawin
· Darrel Guy, Lintlaw
· Marion Heavin, Melfort
· Carla M. Hipkins, Porcupine Plain
· Lana Thompson, Naicam
· Steve Rudy, Carrot River
· Cathy Ryan, Hudson Bay (new appointment)

The appointments are in effect until July 2008. The authority is responsible for the planning, organization, delivery and evaluation of health services within the health region. There are no vacancies on the regional health authority.
