UPDATE ON INVESTIGATION INTO TAYLOR BROS. CONCRETE FIRE

Investigators from the Office of the Fire Commissioner (OFC) with the assistance of Saskatoon Fire and Protective Services have completed an investigation into a fire at Taylor Bros. Concrete in Saskatoon on November 21, 2009.

The investigation determined the area of origin of the fire was located at the south east end of the shop. The two credible sources of ignition in this area were electrical and a natural gas forced air furnace. The possible cause is accidental and no evidence of foul play was found.

OFC investigators also determined that a nearby building had not been criminally entered as had previously been reported by police. The door to the building had been breached by firefighters in an attempt to secure a source of water for fire suppression.
