News Release - October 20, 2010 SEVEN RECIPIENTS TO RECEIVE SASKATCHEWAN’S HIGHEST HONOURToday Lieutenant Governor Gordon Barnhart announced the names of seven recipients of the Saskatchewan Order of Merit. "This year's recipients of the Saskatchewan Order of Merit are an extraordinary group of individuals," Barnhart said. "Each honouree exemplifies excellence, determination and passion, and we are all the beneficiaries of their outstanding contributions." The Order of Merit is the province's highest honour. It recognizes individuals who have contributed significantly to the well-being of the province and its residents. The 2010 recipients are:
Including the seven new members, there have been 175 appointments to the Order of Merit since its inception in 1985. The 2010 recipients will be invested into the Saskatchewan Order of Merit in a ceremony to take place on November 23 in Regina.
