HODGEVILLE STUDENTS UNDER ONE ROOF

Hodgeville elementary and high school students will all be going to school together this fall. Saskatchewan Learning today announced $215,000 in funding for the second phase of renovations to consolidate the schools at the Hodgeville Elementary School.

"We are investing in schools, in students, and in the future of Saskatchewan," Learning Minister Judy Junor said.

The Herbert School Division is contributing $175,000 toward the cost of the $390,000 phase two of the project, which includes renovations to the gym washrooms and removing and raising the gym roof to accommodate the needs of the high school students. Phase one of the project included renovating the school to provide educational programming for the high school students.

"We are delighted to be moving into phase two of this project, accommodating the entire K-12 educational program in one facility," Herbert School Division Board Chair Roland Falk said. "When this project is complete, it will help to significantly improve the educational environment for students in our community."

"This school improvement project is part of the government's commitment to invest in modern, well-equipped learning facilities for Saskatchewan students," Junor said. "Investing in education enriches our communities and ensures a wide open future for Saskatchewan students."

With $36 million in the Saskatchewan Learning K-12 capital budget, which includes $4.6 million from the Centenary Fund, approximately 140 K-12 school construction, renovation or upgrading projects will be funded in communities around the province this year.
