SASKATCHEWAN VOLUNTEERS HONOURED

Today the Lieutenant Governor presented 10 citizens with the Saskatchewan Volunteer Medal at the Legislative Building. The medal recognizes outstanding volunteer service or exceptional community involvement.

The recipients are:

• Donna Challis, North Battleford

• Richard Dubé, Saskatoon

• Réal Forest, Gravelbourg

• Mitchell Holash, Prince Albert

• Mary Houston, Saskatoon

• Shirley Isbister, Saskatoon

• R. Lloyd Jones, Regina

• Carol Peterson, Ogema

• Marianne Skoropad, Regina

• Cyrus Standing, Wahpeton First Nation

Recipients are selected by the Saskatchewan Honours Advisory Council from nominations submitted by the public. The medal recognizes outstanding volunteer service and exceptional community involvement beyond the individual's normal employment or profession.

Including this year's recipients, 94 Saskatchewan citizens have been awarded the Volunteer Medal since its inception in 1995.
