News Release - March 17, 2006 CENTENNIAL MEDAL PRESENTATION IN PRINCE ALBERT
Myron Kowalsky, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, will present the Saskatchewan Centennial Medal on behalf of Lieutenant Governor Lynda Haverstock in Prince Albert on Saturday.
The Medal recognizes the important role that individuals have played in the development of communities in the province. "The Saskatchewan Centennial Medal celebrates individuals who give of their time and energy to improve the lives of others. These outstanding citizens exemplify values that define our province, including work ethic and community service," Kowalsky said. Centennial Medal recipients are selected based on the recommendation of government and non-government organizations and Members of the Legislative Assembly. "The people we honour with this Medal personify just why many Saskatchewanians have concluded that the world could use a little more Saskatchewan." Approximately 4,200 Saskatchewan Centennial Medals will be presented during 2005-06 at special ceremonies throughout the province.
