AGRICULTURE KNOWLEDGE CENTRE BULLETIN: SPRING ORCHARD MANAGEMENT WORKSHOPS

As a result of the growing interest in fruit development, a series of orchard management workshops, jointly sponsored by Saskatchewan Agriculture and Food (SAF) and the Saskatchewan Fruit Growers Association (SFGA), will be held this April. SAF Provincial Fruit Crops Specialist Clarence Peters will hold a practical pruning demonstration after each workshop.  Copies of the presentation will be supplied.  There will be a $25 registration fee to help defray costs and support the SFGA research fund.

Orchard Management and Pruning Workshops scheduled for this month include:

Saturday, April 14, 2007 
1:30-4:30 p.m. - George Kish Farm, McLean

Wednesday, April 18
1:30-4:30 p.m. - Bernie Wiens Farm, Herschel

Monday, April 23
1:30-4:30 p.m. - Prairie Dome, Tonia Vermette, Yorkton

Tuesday, April 24
1:30-4:30 p.m. - Fatikaki Farms, Wilhelm, Pat and Jeanette Meerholz, Preeceville

Wednesday, April 25
1:30-4:30 p.m. - B. Zosel Nursery, Pleasantdale

Thursday, April 26
1:30-4:30 p.m. - Steve Rudy Farm, Carrot River

Friday, April 27 (Spring Orchard Management Workshop only)
10 a.m.-3 p.m. - Seager Wheeler Farm, Rosthern
