SASKWATER 2011 ANNUAL REPORT RELEASED

SaskWater tabled its 2011 Annual Report in the Saskatchewan Legislature today.

Highlights include:

• Net income of $3.5 million; the fourth time a surplus has been earned since being re-mandated as a commercial Crown in 2002;
• $31.3 million in capital spending; and
• Supplied 34.1 billion litres of water, treated and untreated.

"SaskWater has made significant financial strides over the past few years," Minister responsible for SaskWater Dustin Duncan said. "The corporation's financial success is critical in order to support our growing province with infrastructure refurbishments and system expansions."

In addition to providing water and wastewater services, the corporation also offers certified operations and maintenance, project management, operator training to Saskatchewan First Nations, water leak detection and remote monitoring of systems.

SaskWater currently serves 59 Saskatchewan communities, seven rural municipalities, 81 rural pipeline groups and a number of other business and individual residential connections.
