STC OFFERS YOUTH EXCURSION PASS AGAIN THIS SUMMER

The Saskatchewan Transportation Company (STC) will, for the third year in a row, be offering an affordable excursion pass for young people travelling in Saskatchewan this summer.  The Summer in Saskatchewan youth excursion passes carry a one-time cost of $100 and will allow people aged 15 to 25 unlimited travel on STC’s routes during June, July and August.

“Since the program began with the province’s Centennial Year in 2005, it has been very popular with Saskatchewan young people,” Minister responsible for STC Eldon Lautermilch said.  “More than 1,000 passes have been sold over the two-year period.  While this program is a good way for young people to travel our province, it is also good business for STC.  The youth pass has contributed to growth in ridership by introducing a new generation of riders to STC services.”

The pass provides Saskatchewan youth with a chance to see the province and save money.  A return bus fare between Regina and Saskatoon costs just over $75, so the $100 cost of a seasonal pass is a great deal.

Passes will be on sale at STC’s depot in Regina, Saskatoon and Prince Albert, as well as in its 190 agencies throughout the province starting Thursday, May 31.
