News Release - April 25, 2005 WEBSITE PROFILES SASKATCHEWAN YOUTH
With International Youth Week just around the corner, the province's youth-targeted website is highlighting the achievements of some of the province's dynamic young people.
From April 25th - 29th, SaskYouth.net will feature daily profiles of various young people who are pursuing their dreams in Saskatchewan in the section called "Your Spare Time." "One of Saskatchewan's greatest strengths is our solid base of bright, talented and energetic young people," Culture, Youth and Recreation Minister Joan Beatty said. "It's important that we celebrate their achievements because it encourages them to continue striving toward fulfilling their own hopes and dreams while serving as inspiration to so many others." The profiles highlight the achievements of youth from communities across Saskatchewan who are contributing to the province's economic, social and cultural life in their own individual way. To read more about these remarkable young people, visit www.SaskYouth.net. The first youth profile posted to the website features Kevin Hovdestad and Vinay Kumar Mysore, a pair of friends from Saskatoon whose outstanding debating skills took them to Britain to compete at the Oxford English Schools Open. The SaskYouth.net website provides answers to youth questions large and small in areas such as finances, education, employment, recreation and leisure. "SaskYouth.net is a service specifically designed to meet the needs of youth," Beatty said. "We hope the addition of the new profiles will celebrate and inspire another generation of youth trendsetters." -30- For More Information, Contact:
