The Saskatchewan Agri-Food Council is a board appointed by the provincial government to monitor the activities of marketing and development agencies established under The Agri-Food Act 2004.

Supports the development and diversification of Saskatchewan's beef industry through the funding of projects related to production research, technology transfer, and development and promotion of new products.
The Cattle Marketing Deductions Fund is a mandatory check-off of $2 per animal marketed in Saskatchewan. The fund supports various promotional and research activities that benefit the cattle industry in the province.
Honours Saskatchewan's farm families and their role in the development of the province. The family farm represents the traditions and heritage that have shaped our province and the Century Family Farm Award recognizes families that have followed in the footsteps of their ancestors, farming the same land continuously for 100 years or more.
Provides Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) surveillance for the province of Saskatchewan for the purpose of detecting CWD on domestic game farms.
Crop Insurance, an agricultural safety net program offered by the government, is a multi-risk insurance program available for grain, oilseeds, pulse and hay crops, as well as a number of specialty crops.

Supports agriculture and food research by funding human resource research capacity in areas of strategic importance that will enhance and add value to Saskatchewan's agriculture and food industry.
